Are you frequently scared off by the insane amount of money it takes to enroll in film school? If so, we have solved that issue.
Getting into the film industry is not an easy task. No one is guaranteed to get in the industry because you went to film school to be a Director or what have you.
What we can tell you is if you are a Grip and/or Set Electrician with experience on a TV and/or film set, you will be hired. There simply are not enough qualified Grips or Electricians in San Diego to fulfill the jobs that are needed.
Keep in mind that once you’re on set as a Grip and/or Electrician, you are not stuck with that job title forever. While on set you will begin to network with other crew and you may find that working in Production or Makeup, or Special Effects is your thing. You may find yourself switching your job choice to something other than G & E, which is totally normal within the industry.
